Dependent family members may apply for temporary or permanent visas based on their relationship status with their eligible family members in Australia and upon meeting the eligibility criteria for their visa subclass. Popular categories include partner visas, parent visas and dependent child visas.
The prospective marriage visa lets you come to Australia to marry your prospective spouse and then apply for a Partner visa. Other partner visas allow you to first apply for a temporary visa and upon meeting the requirements of partnership, you may be eligible for a permanent visa. There are different requirements when you apply from within Australia or outside of Australia.
The Parent visa is a permanent visa that lets a parent of a settled Australian citizen, Australian permanent resident or eligible New Zealand citizen move to Australia.
